Signature Talk: Steadying the Helper: Stress, Anxiety, and Burnout Support for Care Providers
Medicine, therapy, coaching, ministry: the professions built on showing up for others rarely leave room to ask how the helper is doing. Anxiety becomes background noise. Overwhelm starts to feel like the job description. And burnout, when it finally arrives, can feel less like a crisis and more like the quiet end of something that had been fraying for a long time.
This session offers a different starting point: the nervous system, not the to-do list. Together, we explore what chronic stress actually does to the body and mind of a care provider, practical tools to interrupt overwhelm in the moment, and how to build a sustainable rhythm of self-care that survives contact with a demanding caseload, not just a self-care Sunday.

Jennifer Janelle, MA, NBC-HWC, is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, INELDA-trained death doula, and Grief Care Specialist based in Bellingham, WA. Her path to this work wove together graduate study, a career spent thinking about how people move through change, and her own encounters with loss — leading her to build a practice centered on presence, not fixing. Today she supports individuals through grief and end-of-life transition, and holds space for the healers and caregivers who spend their own lives holding space for others.
